I am going on a trip to Nepal in summer 2026 after I have completed my GCSEs. Whilst out there we will be doing charity work, going on a 5 day trek and learning about the Nepalese culture. The charity work consists of 4 days of hands on work where we will either be building a school classroom or installing a water tank at a local school. Additionally, we will be doing 2 days of workshops with the locals which will help us to understand their culture and situation. The trek is a 5 day hike through the foothills of the Himalayan mountains on the poon hill trek (which gets to over 10,000ft!). We will be trekking for around 6 hours everyday and will cover around 50km. The landscape is beautiful and is shown on the image on my project page. The other 7 days we will be integrating with the Nepalese culture and doing activities such as exploring Kathmandu, visiting Pokhara, and visiting the Kopan Monastery.
