Triad NC SRAid: Hurricane Relief

This year’s hurricane season is expected to break records, with NOAA predicting as many as 25 named storms. The Triad North Carolina Chapter of the Socialist Rifle Association is raising funds to provide material, labor, and monetary support to affected areas in eastern North Carolina under the banner of SRAid, the national mutual aid wing of the SRA.
Last year our chapter used $1500 to make a supply run to the coast. We distributed sanitary supplies, baby formula, and food in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. This year we aim to help communities prepare not just for the hurricanes, but the danger posed by Coronavirus in the aftermath of a storm. Money raised here will be used to purchase baby formula, food, tarps to repair damaged roofs, and other supplies requested by people and organizations on the coast.
We will also purchase supplies to help fight the spread of the virus such as masks and hand sanitizer. These supplies will be brought down by Triad SRAid members before a storm hits if possible, or in the wake of a storm if not.
