As you all may know, Trevor has been moaning about his hip ever since he came off his mountain bike at 5km per hour 3 years ago. Since this time, Trev has tried everything to rehabilitate his hip, tried various therapies, strengthening / stretching, and even thought about taking up fishing! As we know Trev´s true love is running, and since the incident he's only been able to manage a hobble and has been in severe pain on occasion. Unfortunately things have now become much more serious and Trev can no longer walk without limping in pain. After being told everything was "fine" at the local hospital, Trev sought a second opinion with a private MRI which revealed femoral head necropsy. It's great to finally have a diagnosis, but this means surgery (hip replacement) is the only path to take as once the femoral head starts to die it is progressive.

The time estimate for getting surgery on the NHS is two years, which is terrible for anyone but particularly so for someone like Trev who lives for his sport. If he goes private he could get it done in two months, but of course it costs - around 13,200GBP - which is a lot of money, in particular in current circumstances. 

So, whilst this is totally against the grain for Trev, I have decided to reach out to Trevor´s nearest and dearest to see if we can get him some support to help him get surgery privately, so he can get back on his feet, and perhaps even run, as soon as possible. 

I appreciate this is a significant figure, and that it's not about life or death; private healthcare is a privilege. But having personally had so much help from Trevor over the years I wanted to see if it was possible to make this happen as his suffering will only get worse. I´ve set up this ´GoFundMe´ page to try to raise funds.
