Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere. They are still suffering from the ramifications of a devastating earthquake in 2010 as well as a cholera outbreak. A mere four hours away by plane from NYC, children and young people have an entirely different way of life. Many children do not have the benefit of having 1 or more parents taking care of them. That’s why BRESMA was created. BRESMA is an orphanage that takes care of children and helps them find permanent homes as well as paying for school for the children to attend.
My husband and I had the great fortune of being able to bring home our son Ben, who spent a year at BRESMA. Ben is currently organizing a drive for basic supplies at Trevor. Additionally we would like to help other kids that are still waiting for their permanent homes get a proper education.
Help us send 25 children to school for a year tuition free. It costs $20 a month ($240 a year) to sponsor a child.
