Making Nepal Greener - Planting trees in Banepa

Hi, we at Treehope Travel are working together with "Treeman", Rashil, of Banepa, Nepal - to help him on his journey to make the city greener.

Nepal is an incredibly diverse country, but many of its trees and jungle have been lost in the past few decades to make room for farming, new roads and buildings.

Help Us Plant 600 Trees in Banepa, Nepal – 2025 Campaign

We’re back for 2025, and with your help, we’re aiming even higher!

Together with Treeman Rashil in Banepa, Nepal, we at Treehope Travel are continuing our mission to make the city greener, cooler, and healthier—one tree at a time.

Thanks to your generous support in 2024, we planted around 400 trees, each 3–4 years old—mature enough to stand a chance in the urban environment. Rashil, known locally as Treeman, has learned through years of hands-on experience that bigger trees survive better in the city. Smaller saplings simply don’t cope well with the conditions.

This year, the GoFundMe campaign continues for 2025, with our sights set on:

Planting 600 new trees between June and the end of August

Re-planting any from last year that didn’t survive

This is more than tree planting—it’s a community-powered project:

Cow manure is bought from local homes to enrich the soil

Local workers are paid to dig and prepare the planting sites

Bamboo stakes are purchased and cut locally

Volunteers join in every step of the way (let us know if you want to help!)

It creates jobs, involvement, and ownership—and it’s already making a visible impact in Banepa.

Healthy, established trees

Tools and organic materials

Wages for local helpers

The replanting process for any lost trees
