Hey everyone! My name is Brooke. Since becoming a mom, my eyes have really opened to the emotional roller coaster you can be on when raising a child. Having your heart walk outside of your body is a much bigger task than even I, who had always wanted to be a mom, had anticipated. Time and time again in the last five years I have been touched by so many stories from other mamas. In 2020, I became a special needs mom. This journey has opened my heart up to not just special needs, but needs of others in general. I am constantly jumping in to try and help when a mama is struggling because I understand when your child is your whole world and their world is being flipped upside down.
Childhood cancer has really touched my heart in the last few years. I have seen the impact it has on families during the process of treatment, the excitement of remission and the grief of loss. So I wanted to give back to these families. I know as a mom, seeing a smile on my kids face in times of trouble is the only thing that brings joy along with a whole lot of prayer.
I am raising money to make trays full of actives, a blanket, socks, and a cup to give to the children of the oncology Ronald McDonald space at CHOP. After some back and forth with CHOP, the idea has been approved and we are ready to jump in! We are hoping to raise money for 30 trays with all the goodies for ages ranging from pre-school to teens. I will be packing and delivering by the end of February. Any extra funds will be donated to CHOP hospital who has been there for my family on so many occasions!
The tray photo is an example of what we will be putting together for all of the kiddos.
Thank you all so much for your support
