Trauma and Hope Helps Village of Hope in Africa

Trauma and Hope is a mental health agency in Springfield, Virginia that strives to improve the lives of those affected by trauma. In January 2023 Deepa, the Co-Founder of Trauma and Hope, visited Village of Hope in Zambia, Africa with the intention of offering mental health training and intervention services. At the time she did not know how this would change her life and have the potential to help in so many other ways. Since Deepa returned she has remained connected with Village of Hope working to provide training, education, and intervention services for professionals at Village of Hope.

The passion to help Village of Hope has spread to others. In January 2024, Deepa and three other trauma specialists from Trauma and Hope plan to build on the work directed towards providing critical trauma services to those in Zambia's Village of Hope who have endured life difficulties. These individuals have experienced horrendous experiences and require profound healing of emotional wounds. As trauma specialists, we determined that everyone deserves access to quality and compassionate care. We believe in healing power and resilience and strive to empower the residents of the Village of Hope to overcome their trauma and rebuild their lives. We aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment where survivors can heal, grow, and thrive through training, education, individual counseling, group therapy sessions, and community support programs. Our team is committed to working tirelessly to restore hope, strength, and a sense of normalcy to the lives of those affected by trauma in the Village of Hope.
