Our Why: From King Street to Giving Back

Trash Wizard was built in Worcester by Worcester natives Brett Sullivan and Isaac Troy. This city isn’t just where we work — it’s where we grew up, where our families still live, and where our story started.

For Isaac, that story starts on King Street.

Growing up there, bikes weren’t just toys — they were freedom. They were transportation. They were independence. And for several of Isaac’s close family members, Worcester Earn-A-Bike played a direct role in making that possible.

Family members of ours participated in the Earn-A-Bike program. They learned how to repair and maintain bikes. They earned them. They rode them. And they gained more than just transportation — they gained confidence and skills.

That impact is personal to us.

That’s why we’re raising money — and awareness — for Worcester Earn-A-Bike, a nonprofit community bicycle shop that teaches bicycle repair and empowers people to earn a bike from donated bicycles.

Why Worcester Earn-A-Bike Matters

Worcester Earn-A-Bike isn’t just a bike shop. It’s a learning space.

Participants don’t simply receive a bike — they:

Learn hands-on mechanical skills
Volunteer time and earn their bike
Build responsibility and confidence
Walk away with transportation and knowledge that lasts

For youth especially, that combination is powerful. A bike can mean:

Getting to school or work consistently
Staying active and healthy
Feeling independent
Having something that’s truly theirs
We’ve seen the difference it makes — in our own family.

How Trash Wizard Helps (Beyond This Fundraiser)

This fundraiser is just one part of our commitment.

A major way we support Worcester Earn-A-Bike is by donating bikes directly from our junk removal jobs.

Every week, we clear out:

Garages
Basements
Estate cleanouts
Foreclosures
Apartment move-outs

And we regularly find bikes that are still usable or repairable.

Instead of sending them to the landfill, we:

Set them aside
Load them carefully
Deliver them to Worcester Earn-A-Bike
Those donated bikes become part of the program’s inventory — giving someone else the chance to earn, repair, and ride.

It’s one of the most meaningful parts of what we do.

Turning “junk” into opportunity is exactly why we started Trash Wizard in the first place.

Why We’re Raising Money

Donated bikes are essential — but it takes resources to keep a community shop running.

Funds raised through this campaign help support:

Tools and repair equipment
Replacement parts and shop supplies
Safety gear and maintenance materials
The operational needs that keep the doors open
Every dollar helps keep wheels turning and knowledge growing in Worcester.

Thank you for helping us give back to a program that helped our own family — and continues to help so many others.

Let’s keep Worcester riding forward.
