TransRightsReadathon: Support SistersPGH
Donation protected
Court (@queerfatloud) and Emily (@ems.book.shelf_) are hosting a joint fundraiser for the TransRightsReadathon!
The TransRightsReadathon is an annual call to action for readers and book lovers in support of Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV) on March 31st. The reader community is called on to read and uplift books written by and/or featuring trans, nonbinary, 2Spirit, and gender-nonconforming authors and characters. The readathon will be Friday, March 21st through Monday, March 31.
Part of this readathon is to take action and support trans organizations. Court and Emily are both local to Pittsburgh, PA and have decided to fundraise for a local Black- and trans-led organization, SisTersPGH . This organization provides housing, financial assistance, gender-affirming care, and community resources to Black and Brown trans communities living in Pittsburgh/Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
They have recently opened Monica Roberts Place, an affordable housing program that provides safe and stable housing to transgender individuals, as well as an affirming community where tenants can access resources, build financial stability to help work toward long-term independence.
Please consider helping us reach our donation goal for this wonderful organization providing immense support to the people who need it now more than ever.
With Love,
