"Miles for Smiles" for FCCF Pediatric Cancer Families

Miles for Smiles - almost 27 years ago, my lifelong friend Greg Porcino (and his good friend Steve Figurelli) asked me to help them organize the Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation. Today we continue to provide important financial support to families challenged with pediatric cancer, having assisted more than 2,300 families and provided nearly 3 million dollars in direct family support to date.

I turn 70 later this year and will have an opportunity of a lifetime to ride my bike on some of the classic hill climbs in the history of the Tour de France. From June 30 to July 6 I will be riding approximately 150 miles over the week in the mountains of Italy and France. I am inviting you to join me in this experience by pledging some dollar amount per mile (or any dollar amount you want) that will go directly to our Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation to support the transportation costs that the Fighting Children's Cancer Foundation families incur every day in the treatment of their child. You can pledge any amount you want. I also hope to be able to provide you with the ability to track my progress through the week with pictures and a travel log of my experience, capped off with climbing the classic Alp d"Huez 21 switchbacks near the end of the week.
