Helping "at-risk" children in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania
Donation protected
Hi my name is Breiffní Skinner and I am a Transition Year student from Kinsale Community School. I am extremely lucky to be travelling to Tanzania with the Teretta Foundation in February 2025 with a group of 15 fellow students in my year. This Community is in the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro, in East Africa.
The Teretta Foundation is a self-sustainable NGO charity founded by two passionate women, Lenore from Cork, and Teddy from Kilimanjaro. It was born out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of at-risk children in need who are not afforded the same opportunities in life due to the lottery of where they live.
While in Tanzania, each of us students will get a chance to be hands on in the
community, and see first hand how our fundraising will be used. The main aim of our trip in February is to support the efforts of providing a safehouse and classrooms for at-risk and underprivileged children. We will also be going to buy & deliver food to those in genuine need, and we will be visiting a disability centre in conjunction with MAISHA outreach centre whom makes made-to-measure wheelchairs for children in the area. I'm told the children in Kilimanjaro are currently counting down the days excitedly, as much as I am, to our arrival!
All donations collected will be going straight to the Teretta Foundation, so please help us by donating to achieve our amazing goal! Thank you.
