Help Finish the School for Orphaned Children in Ghana
Hello, we are Tyron and Maggie. We are passionate and committed to support and enhance the life chances of those who are easily overlooked by society, and His Majesty's Happy Home Orphanage and School is close to our hearts!
Over the past few years, through music nights, fundraisers, and community events, we have come alongside Alberta Smith to build a school that can host 250 children at any one time in Odumase, so they no longer have to learn inside hot, cramped, noisy tin-roofed rooms where up to three classes are squeezed into one space.
Alberta’s Story
In 2006, our dear friend Alberta left the UK with one mission: Help my people. She moved to Odumase, where children were homeless, hungry, and without education. Alberta began feeding them and creating safe spaces filled with hope. Over time, she founded His Majesty’s Happy Home orphanage — a loving family and sanctuary for orphaned children.
Education for the Future
To secure their futures, Alberta started a school that now serves 250 children from the orphanage and local community — a mind-blowing accomplishment! Many have gone on to university or returned as teachers. But the school building was overcrowded, and the Ghanaian education authorities warned it could close without urgent improvements.
Action!
Since 2022, we have brought people together, creating community in the hope of raising money and sharing the joy of giving. We launched fundraising campaigns and inspired generosity from across the globe, raising over £40,000 to build the beautiful new school pictured above.
