Transform Maasai Lives: Provide education and evangelism

Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Supporters,

We recently returned from a life-changing mission trip to the interior Maasai land in the valleys of Western Kenya. During our visit, we were deeply moved by the incredible spirit and resilience of the Maasai people, but we also witnessed the urgent needs of their community—needs that we are determined to address with your help.

Imagine living without electricity, running water, and with very few resources. How would you face those challenges? In the heart of Maasai land, lives a vibrant and hopeful community.

Even though they own very little and have little to no access to the outside world, they wake up every day with joy and hope. They work on herding cattle and meeting the most basic needs of their families.

They invited us into their homes and offered us the best seat- even if the best that they had was a bucket to sit on. We never saw one child complain about the food being served- because they knew it might be their only meal for the day.

The children, full of potential and dreams, are yearning for educational opportunities. But many cannot consistently afford the school fees. When a student cannot be current with their school fees, they are sent home. Some may even drop out of school after 5th grade due to the inability to pay or simply because further education is just not available in their community.

The parents and community members put every penny into buying food that they cannot grow themselves. If there is any money left, it goes towards the school fees. Even if someone in the family has to be without shoes, proper clothes or medical care- they value education above everything else. They recognize that education will be the key to helping future generations.

The community’s spiritual hunger is equally profound, with a pressing need for bibles, a church to gather and worship, and a bible worker to guide their faith journey. We walked with church elders for miles and miles to visit and pray with the people in the community. We developed close friendships, and we want to maintain the connection, not only with our prayers, but with resources.

Here’s how you can be a part of this transformative journey and the impact it will make:

Education for Maasai Children: Many children in the community do not have access to the resources they need for a proper education. We want to ensure that they have the school supplies, uniforms, materials, and school fees necessary for their growth and success. With $50 you can help fund a child’s education for ONE month!

Supporting a Bible Worker: A bible worker will be instrumental in guiding and nurturing the community’s faith. They will offer continued spiritual support, teach, and help the community grow in their religious journey. Right now, the current bible worker is volunteering without a salary. The very basic salary of a bible worker is $2,000 per year. We want the bible worker to continue this mission for as many years as possible.

Providing Bibles: The Maasai community is eager to deepen their faith and understanding of the bible. We aim to provide bibles in their native language to support their spiritual journey. Each bible in Swahili or Maasai is about $10. Help us buy a bible for everyone who has a need.

Building a Church: A dedicated space for worship is crucial for the community's spiritual life. Right now, this community is worshiping outdoors. They would like to build a church where they can gather, celebrate their faith, and strengthen their bonds as a community. A basic church structure costs about $8,000. If we raise more than enough funds, we will partner with a non-profit organization to fund a church project.

Why now?
How many of us claim to want to be the hands and feet of Jesus? Yet we don't take any action. This is your opportunity to be a witness and take one small step. You donation, no matter how small will be appreciated by the community. This is your mission too- because it is Jesus' mission. As believers we spread the gospel not just through sermons, but by providing for our brothers and sisters.
