Bring Clean Water to Africa – Digging Wells, Promoting Education, Changing Lives and more!
I never took much time to consider the true gift of water at home, I turned the faucet and poof! there it was. After spending the past 7 months here in the country of Sierra Leone working with a humanitarian organization I view water in a whole new way. Access to clean water is a basic human necessity, but millions of people in Africa still lack it. Every day, countless families walk miles to fetch water that is often contaminated and unsafe to drink. This scarcity leads to illness, missed education, and even death. You see, it is so much more than just digging a well. It is keeping girls who often walk long distances to get water, safe from assault and rape on at times unsafe paths. Allowing children to go to school rather than spending 4-6 hours of the day walking for unsafe drinking water and most importantly show love to these people who have gone without this basic human necessity and need for far too long.
I believe we can change this. This mission is to help a village in the Eastern Province in Kailahun District by the border of Guinea and Liberia that desperately needs it. They currently have no access to close, clean, safe water. – This area was one of the first who suffered so much devastation and death during the war between March 23, 1991 and January 18, 2002, much of the war relief organizations that came after the war to help unfortunately never made their way to the outlying villages. These communities seem to be forgotten people and providing clean, safe drinking water will give children, families, and entire villages the chance to thrive. And YOU can be a part!

What are the projects?! Glad you asked! 2 wells, a school and……who knows what need will next present itself! But first WATER. These are Bore Hole wells that are solar powered and will serve 6 villages total! The exciting part is, because God is good, we found a drilling company that was willing to bring the cost from 1 well for 40,000. To digging two, yes TWO wells for 31000.! They are invested in helping this community as well.

I don’t know why God has placed this project in front of me? But I have faith in his abundance and provision! So how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. This may look like a big number and honestly it is, but it is also very achievable! I believe we can do this!
