Hello there!
My name is Rebecca, I am a Mexican-American transgender woman living in the state of Ohio in the United States who is seeking safety and housing security in the city of Chicago.
4 years ago in 2022, I had moved to Ohio in hopes that I would find better opportunities in life. Unfortunately, throughout my time here it has been mostly one hardship after another. Many things snowballing onto me. I have constantly been struggling to find stable housing, jumping from place to place nearly each year. I have been digging myself deeper into debt because I have been depending on several loans and maxing credit cards in order to feed myself & survive. Living in Ohio has been a bit of a safety concern for me as I have experienced discrimination and harassment as a trans woman both at work & in public. This winter, my previous HRT provider shut down due to pressure by the US Government, presumably because of anti-trans laws and I had to go through about 4 months without any hormone medication while I felt gross & miserable about my body.
My apartment lease is ending in mid-July and I need assistance getting my way to Chicago. I have close friends waiting for me out there who would provide me with safety & comfort. I currently live alone with my two adorable pet rats (Sombra and Rubi). My family lives in the West Coast and I cannot easily depend on them for support as they are a lower income Hispanic family who also struggles with getting by. In the meantime I will be temporarily living with some friends in town who are providing me with shelter until I can leave but, I don't want to overstay my welcome for too long either...
I am asking for your support to help me in this dire time of need. Please help me by sharing this page to friends & family, and also donating to me if possible to help me find a stable and secure home.
I will be providing links to other forms of payment as well since they can go directly to me for food and other daily necessities.
