We are raising funds for a close friend of ours, a trans masc person of color living in Berlin, who is currently in a very critical situation. They are on probation and are now facing a new legal case that could send them directly to jail if they do not have the right legal defense.

Because of their probation status, this case is especially dangerous. Without a skilled lawyer who knows how to defend people in probation, the chances of imprisonment are extremely high. Our friend has already found a lawyer with experience in these cases, but they cannot afford the fees on their own.

As a trans masc person, the risk of ending up in a female prison is extremely dangerous for them. This would expose them to daily harassment and violence that they should not have to endure. For this reason, it is absolutely essential that they can hire a very skilled lawyer who can protect them and fight for an outcome that keeps them safe and out of jail.

On top of this, our friend is dealing with serious mental health struggles that have prevented them from working for months. This makes it impossible for them to cover the costs of their legal defense and their basic needs at the same time.

We are urgently trying to raise 8,000 EUR. Every euro will go directly to covering the lawyer’s fees and ensuring that our friend has a fair chance in court. Without this support, the risk of imprisonment is extremely high.

For privacy and safety, we are not sharing the details of the case publicly. It already requires all of our friend’s energy and capacity just to manage this process, and anonymity is important for their protection. But we want to be clear: this fundraiser is specifically for legal costs, and every donation will go directly toward securing the defense they need to survive this situation.
