Help a broke Trans Woman of Color get a ride

Hi everyone,

My name is Petra and I’m a proud trans woman of color doing my best to survive and thrive in a world that often feels stacked against people like me.

Right now, I’m reaching out for support in getting something that would truly change my life: a motorcycle.

As someone facing financial hardship and safety concerns, having reliable transportation isn’t just a dream it’s a necessity. Public transportation in my area is limited, and often not safe, especially for trans women like me. Walking alone, particularly at night, puts me at risk, and rideshares add up quickly and aren’t always an option.

A motorcycle would give me:

Independence to get to work, appointments, and community events on my own terms

Safety by avoiding long, unsafe walks or relying on strangers

Opportunity to build stability and work more reliably without worrying about how I’ll get there

Freedom something so many takes for granted, but which feels just out of reach for me

It would also allow me to continue the community-focused work I’ve been doing locally whether it’s helping others get connected to resources, showing up for mutual aid efforts, or simply being present in spaces where people like me are often overlooked. Much of this work has been funded out of my own pocket, and while I’m proud of what I’ve been able to do, my funds are stretched thin. Reliable transportation would ease that burden and allow me to keep showing up without burning out.

I’ve been doing everything I can working side gigs, applying for help, and budgeting carefully but I still fall short of what’s needed to afford a used, reliable motorcycle, safety gear, and fees.
