One of Tralee Rotary Club's Fundraisers in the year is always the Christmas Memory Tree. Unfortunately due to Covid 19 and the restrictions we are unable to have a real tree this year, the club has decided to have a virtual tree.
The Memory Tree allows people to remember someone who has passed, someone that maybe ill or simply someone you would like to remember and pray for.
An ecumenical service will be held in the New Year for everyone on the virtual memory tree.
The funds this year will be going to Adapt Kerry Women's Refuge and other local charities.
At Adapt, they are a specialist domestic violence service, who in partnership with TUSLA – the Child & Family Agency – offer’s a place of safety and a range of supports to women and children throughout the County of Kerry whose lives are affected by Domestic Violence.
Their key aims are:
To offer a non-directive and non-judgmental support service to female victims of domestic violence.
To provide a referral and advocacy service for female victims of domestic violence and their children when required
To raise awareness of the issue of Domestic Violence
To work in partnership with other agencies and professionals to promote the welfare and well being of women and children who are affected by this crime.
