Announcing our first fundraiser to include the North Coast Trail, a new long distance walking trail connecting John o’ Groats to Cape Wrath. We’ve already had many successes on the trail, as trail manager Laura Gray has held community outreach and landowner discussions over the last year, and has started marking the trail in places.

Another success we’ve had is that we have overcome a legal challenge to our work on the NCT. We were sued by Tina Irving, who pursued a case in the English court system. (She never fully explained what the case was about.) The court dismissed the case and said that the appeal was “completely without merit”. However, in defending our case, we amassed legal fees totalling £4,845.96, with little hope of collecting this from the claimant.

But now we can put that behind us, and turn the corner from the John o’ Groats Trail to build a new walking legacy on the north coast of Caithness and Sutherland to match. We are setting an ambitious overall target of raising £10,000 which will go towards stiles, bridges, and other costs of trail building.

All funds raised over and above our legal costs will go straight to building trails in the Far North of Scotland. Your donation will be a positive sign that we want progress, not conflict, in our beautiful part of the world. Please help us, as we "turn the corner" this year.
