Tragic Passing of Young Mother: Lauren Gillum

Please help us bless the Gillum family after the passing of sweet Lauren Taylor Gillum, single mother, sister, daughter and friend to so many.  Lauren was tragically killed in a car accident just 5 days before Christmas. Lauren was full of life and invested in bringing joy to all those she encountered. She leaves behind grieving parents, Dub and Karen, sister, Erica, and two precious young sons both under the age of 5. This fund will be used by the Gillums at their complete discretion for immediate needs, funeral expenses, and taking care of Lauren’s sweet boys to list a few. It would be awesome if they had the opportunity to cover immediate expenses and to start the boys a college fund. Dub and Karen find themselves taking over the monumental task of raising two young boys. Please consider helping ease this unexpected financial challenge. We can’t bring Lauren back, but we can certainly come together as a community through Hood County and beyond. 

Many reading this know just who the Gillums are and what they mean to our community, but for those of you who don’t, Dub Gillum recently retired from a 29 year DPS State Trooper career during which he survived being shot 10 times. Karen has faithfully served pregnant women in her capacity as a nurse in Hood County.

This family has faithfully and selflessly servedour community for the better part of 3 decades. Let’s do the same for them during this time of overwhelming pain.
