Felixstowe Trafalgar Day Parade 2024

Felixstowe Sea Cadets are proud to announce they are hosting their District Trafalgar Day Parade for 2024. This will see up to two hundred Sea Cadets, supporting staff plus their families come to our town to watch and support the parade. This will have a positive impact on local businesses and give us the chance to showcase our wonderful town to these visitors. There will be some minor disruption to the road network near to the town centre while a rolling roadblock closes several roads for a matter of minutes to allow the parade to pass through.

Trafalgar Day is the celebration of the victory won by the Royal Navy, commanded by Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, over the combined French and Spanish fleets at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.

Sea Cadet Corps in the United Kingdom hold a youth cadet parade known as the National Trafalgar Day Parade on Trafalgar Square each year. The parade is formed with a platoon from each area, a guard and a massed band. Units and Districts from around the country celebrate this day with a town parade.
