Toys and Smiles-Providing Support To Less Fortunate Families
Donation protected
Hi! We are BUDA, the Black Undergraduate Dental Association, a new organization at the University of Michigan that aims to foster a community that supports Black students aspiring to have a career in dentistry. It is our mission to offer volunteering and community service opportunities to support our local communities, and currently, we are striving to raise funds to donate toys to Motts Children's Hospital, and dental kits to Detroit Goodfellow.
Detroit Goodfellow is an organization that has provided thousands of less fortunate families with children, 4-13 years of age, with holiday gift boxes to ensure that hard times don't dim their holiday spirit! Detroit Goodfellow's fundraising goal for this year is 1.2 million dollars, and they've collected nearly 25% of their goal. That leaves 75% of the fundraising goal unmet, and BUDA would love to help!
Similarly, every year, Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, sets up a free toy store for their "little victors" during the holiday season to help relieve financial and emotional stress for families in the hospital. Last year, Mott Children's Hospital provided 10,000 toys to nearly 850 patients, and we'd love to provide support so that this can happen again for the 2024 holiday season.
Lastly, our organization, BUDA, will be holding a dental hygiene kit creation event on December 9th, and we plan to deliver the dental kits to Detroit Goodfellows. Your donations will go to purchasing toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, toothbrush holders, and mouthwash.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity during this holiday season. The Black Undergraduate Dental Association really appreciates your support!
