In 2019 COMITE CIVICO ARGENTINO opened it's doors to the communities in need in Long Island NY and abroad.
It's President, Lia Di Angelo saw the need to fundraise for those that needed the most. THE CHILDREN.
Originally from Argentina, Lia has seen a lot of poverty in her country and even here in the States.
She surrounds herself with groups and organizations of people with the same love and care to help others.
Her toy drive started small in 2015, collecting toys for her birthday in December rather than "more things" for herself.
The collection got bigger and better year after year.
After that Lia decided to go for it and formed thr organization and it's first GALA on December 2019.
$5000 were collected for works and 600 toys to share.
In merely 6 months COMITÉ CÍVICO ARGENTINO has donated wheelchairs to El Salvador, helped perform cleft palate surgeries in Ecuador, partially funded to build a school in a remote and very por area in Formosa Argentina, donated toys for Christmas and 3 Kings Day and fed families in need that lost jobs during the pandemic.
