What
The STOP COVID-19/Creative Health Collective project's Community Health Workers have asked for support delivering toys and holiday food baskets to families who may not as well connected with other holiday programming because of documentation status or other reasons for not coming forward.
The project has a history of delivering thousands of pounds of food, masks, public health information, and other necessities to families through out Milwaukee during the COVID-19 crisis. Four communities of color are supported through this program - African American, Hispanic, Native American, and SE Asian.
The project tries to routinely provide accountability to donors through photos of drop offs whenever possible. Funds not expended during the holiday will be used to support families in need in these communities in early 2021 dealing with issues like evictions, ensuring food security, etc.
Who
The Toy Drive fundraiser is informally organized and supported by staff of major institutions in the Milwaukee area.
Logistics Support
Gift wrapping and delivery will be handed by a volunteer staff team at the All of Us program, Girl Scout Troop 10616, and others who are involved in community COVID-19 response efforts.
