To Whom It May Concern,
Twenty-First Century Townball is partnering with Thai Village in this exciting opportunity.
Hi, my name is Daniel Jones. I am the founder of Twenty-First Century Townball.
As many of you know, I grew up in Taiwan as a missionary kid. My good friend Liz Meister, founder of Thai Village Inc. (https://thaivillage.org/), also grew up in Taiwan but moved to Thailand with her family when I was in tenth grade. Liz established Thai Village about two decades later as an answer to the need that she and her family witnessed while living as missionaries there.
Thai Village is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting local communities in Thailand by offering “dignified work that glorifies God, and income that provides enough for them to support their families.” Thai Village considers itself a “freedom business,” that is, a business that seeks “to create employment opportunities for those who are most often unskilled and have experienced trauma, upholding a commitment to the vulnerable in society and a belief in the inherent worth of every human being.” This is exactly the kind of business that Twenty-First Century Townball is interested in partnering with.
The Twenty-First Century Townball Organization is looking to raise $6000 for a double-edged objective. The first part will be used to send my son and me to Thai Village to train its artisans to make townballs for Twenty-First Century Townball Co. to be sold in Taiwan. Twenty-First Century Townball will be paying the artisans for their labor.
The second half of the donations will be given directly to Thai Village for the organization to use at its discretion to further its charitable mission. Twenty-First Century Townball has made donations to Thai Village in the past, and we are hoping that you will consider supporting the mission of Thai Village on a long-term basis, even beyond this fundraiser, seeing that their purpose is a worthy one (please watch this video to get a glimpse of the level of impact that the workers of Thai Village are having within the communities in Thailand https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jj-doZc48s4).
In addition to visiting Thailand, during this visit, my son and I will have a weeklong layover in Taiwan to teach the Taiwanese to play townball to develop a long-term demand for these townballs in Asia. It is hoped that through this exciting opportunity, we can join Thai Village in its mission to create critical fair-trade income for the Thai Village artisans for years to come.
Much more can be said about our plan to cause townball to grow in Taiwan in the same way that it has grown in the United States, but this is not the place for that. If you are interested to learn more about our organization or the sport of townball, please reach out to any of our board members, or visit 21ctownball.com.
A multitude of thanks,
Daniel Jones, Founder of Twenty-First Century Townball
While most businesses seek to hire the best and the brightest, Freedom Businesses seek to first create employment opportunities for those who are most often unskilled and have experienced trauma, upholding a commitment to the vulnerable in society and a belief in the inherent high worth of every human being.
