Running has taught me that every mile tells a story. This September, the miles won’t be about me. They’ll be about remembrance, gratitude, and honoring lives that continue to impact our nation 25 years later. As a husband, father, runner, and American, I feel privileged to take part in this journey and carry those memories forward one step at a time.
Like many Americans, I can still remember where I was on September 11, 2001. The images, the loss, the courage, and the unity that followed remain etched in my memory. While the years have passed, the sacrifice of those who lost their lives and those who answered the call to serve must never be forgotten.
This September, I have the privilege of participating in the 2026 Run for Remembrance, a relay covering nearly 500 miles from the Flight 93 National Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, to Washington DC, and ultimately to New York City, arriving on September 11th.
For seven days, from September 5 through September 11, I will join fellow runners in honoring the victims of 9/11 and paying tribute to the heroes whose courage continues to inspire us. Along the route, we will participate in memorial readings, ceremonies, and moments of reflection as we remember those who never came home.
As a runner, I’ve completed races, long training runs, and endurance events. But this run is different. This isn’t about pace, mileage, or personal accomplishment. This is about remembrance.
It’s about honoring the passengers and crew of Flight 93, the victims at the Pentagon, and the men, women, and children who lost their lives at the World Trade Center. It’s about recognizing the sacrifices made by firefighters, police officers, first responders, and members of our military who continue to serve our communities and our country every day.
I am running in support of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, inspired by the extraordinary sacrifice of Firefighter Stephen Siller, who gave his life on September 11 after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to reach the Twin Towers and help others. His legacy lives on through a foundation that supports first responders, veterans, and military families across our nation.
I am asking for your support in helping me raise funds for this incredible mission.
Whether your contribution is $10, $25, $50, or more, every donation helps Tunnel to Towers continue serving those who sacrifice so much for all of us.
If you’re unable to donate, I would be grateful if you would share this page and help spread the message.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and serves as a reminder that while time passes, memory must endure.
We once stood united.
Today, we run united.
Thank you for helping me honor the fallen, support our heroes, and ensure that the legacy of September 11, 2001, is never forgotten.
United We Run.
