Help Us Replace Our Stolen Community Minibus
Want to join us in making a difference?
Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS) is raising funds to replace our community minibus after it was stolen. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue supporting older people across South Tyneside to stay active, connected and independent.
Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has shared our story, left kind messages, and offered support. The response from local people has been overwhelming, and it reminds us just how much our community cares.
Our minibus was much more than a vehicle. It provided a lifeline for older people experiencing loneliness and isolation, helping them attend social groups, activities, appointments and events that keep them connected to their community.
As a small, independent local charity, securing funding is becoming increasingly challenging. Our stolen minibus was originally purchased through National Lottery funding, and while we do have insurance, the cost of replacing a vehicle has risen significantly since then. We know that the insurance pay-out alone is unlikely to cover the full cost of a suitable replacement, leaving us with a funding gap that we must bridge.
The good news is that thanks to the kindness of local people and organisations, we have been able to secure a temporary loan vehicle so that we can continue supporting older people in the short term. However, we urgently need to raise funds to secure a permanent replacement and ensure this essential service can continue for years to come.
We are asking our local community to come together once again and help us replace this vital minibus. Every pound donated will bring us one step closer to getting older people back on the road, reconnecting with friends, activities and the support they rely on.
Thank you for standing with us. Your generosity, support and community spirit mean more than words can say.
Every donation helps. Every share makes a difference.
