I previously had a car but, due to circumstances at the time, it made sense to let it go. Since then, my parents’ caring needs have increased, and not having reliable transport has become far more limiting than I expected.
I’m autistic, and while I do use public transport where I can, it can be difficult and overwhelming. Particuarly for time-sensitive journeys, unfamiliar routes, or when supporting others. As a result, I currently rely heavily on friends and family for lifts to appointments, errands, and to help my parents. I’m very grateful for this support, but it isn’t sustainable long-term.
I’m now saving steadily towards a modest second-hand car. However, my credit history is currently poor following a debt management plan, which has now been fully paid off. While that was the responsible step to take, it does mean affordable credit isn’t an option, making this a somewhat time-sensitive situation as needs continue to grow.
Any support would simply help bridge the gap, reduce reliance on others, and make day-to-day life more manageable. There’s absolutely no pressure — even sharing or kind words are genuinely appreciated.
Thanks
