Towa Kitu Kidogo
"IF YOU WANT TO GO FAST, GO ALONE; IF YOU WANT TO GO FAR, GO TOGETHER" - African Proverm
By using the term “Towa Kitu Kidogo” or Swahili for, "Give Something Small", we feel that collectively, our combined efforts are much more powerful than ours individually.
We know, this term can be associated with corruption and bribery, however our intention here is to challenge conventional ways of doing things. We are using towakitukidogo.org to show, that giving something small can indeed end up in the right hands and impact people at the ground level. Knowing that we cannot do this together, we ask you to help advance our cause in any manner you can.
Each week we come up with a variety of initiatives to support the communities around Western Kenya focused around the City of Kisumu. Our partners vary based on the project. So far, we have partnered up with the Kenya Red Cross, The Gilani Foundation and The Imperial Hotel.
We account for every Dollar/Shilling that is donated. Just like Jack Dorsey (of Twitter) we created a google document where you can see where our funds are going. Unlike Jack, we don’t have a billion dollars to give away, just yet..;)
