Tour de Grozzi: 10 Million Steps for a Legend

Years ago, Grozzi founded the 'Tour de Lounge', riding a bike trainer in front of the TV while watching the Tour de France. It was in support of his wife Didy, who was having chemo. Completely mad but bloody unreal.
The shoe is now on the other foot, and Grozzi is undergoing his own chemo for bowel cancer. A nice mid-40s version of the Tour de Lounge is the 'Tour de Walk'.
About 30 blokes are doing as many steps as we can during the Tour de France. We are aiming for 10 million steps, but the early indication is we will do that easily, so it's already becoming a moving target. The competition is intense - one walker did 32,000 steps yesterday and didn’t win the stage and there is a King of the Mountains category for the 100kg plus walkers. Competition is hot for the yellow jersey as overall leader, and everyone wants to win an individual stage (23 days).
Our goal is to raise a cent per step, which would be $100,000 for Bowel Cancer Australia. Many of the walkers are donating half a cent or a cent per step themselves (i.e. 500,000 steps is $5000).
This is about banter and support for a legend and some money for a great cause. Donate some money and don’t be afraid to get a check up or act quickly on any symptoms.
To Grozzi: a legend, a mate, and the reason we're lacing up. Every step is a reminder that you're not in this fight alone. ♂️
