Talibé - A child from 1 to 15 who are either orphans, abandoned by their parents or stolen, are brought to Senegal from neighboring countries by "Marabouts" (false dervishes). Marabouts gather these children together in "Daaras" (Quran courses) and pretend to offer them a religious education. They wander around the streets day and night, begging for money to survive. They have no home, no family, no food, no bed, no support, no education, they are the bottom of the food chain everyday.

Raising £10,500 will enable us to support over 70 Talibé through the COVID-19 Crisis for 6 months. Our coastal tourist town is closed
due to the block on all tourists entering Senegal during COVID-19. Senegal is in no way equipped to for this virus.

There is barley enough income to support the locals who in turn can no longer support the Talibé.

I’m Tess and Ifounded Child Slave Rescue in October 2021 to help
some of  Senegal's most disadvantaged children to survive through the COVID-19 Crisis. We’re Toubab  Dialow's only not-for-profit child rescue center and we’re on a mission to ensure that Talibé children who are 100% reliant on handouts have the support they need to transform their lives. We do this by emotionally supporting the children at our day center,  supplying a full hot nourishing meal with clean water , basic medical and dental care, creating a safe and stable meeting place and working towards creating better living conditions for all the children.
