This is very hard to even type out, but our options are very limited. On Easter 2025 my family's home was hit by an EF1 tornado. There was significant damage to the exterior and interior of the home. My grandfather, Thomas Todd, is 81 years old and has worked his whole life to retire and now he is on a limited income. He has lived on this property for almost 40 years. Our family has lived there for a while, my mother (Tonya) and my sister (Matea) live with him. It has been challenging after the passing of my grandmother 3 years ago. As well as prior health issues that my grandfather has had that makes his ability to do as much limited. While we filed an insurance claim the payout has been extremely under due to depreciation according to the insurance company even though we had some contractors come look at the home, and they were advised that the house should be a total loss. We would like to try to get a smaller mobile home in there but the money remains very limited. We didn’t want to have to ask for money help but options have severely depleted and as the days get drawn out waiting to hear from insurance and contractors there is significant more damage occurring to the interior of the home. With major mold growth from it taking the insurance adjuster weeks to get out and all the rain.While we managed to get some tarps up they did not completely protect all the spots that had been damaged. We would appreciate any help we can get. Thank you.
