From the time Tori was found unresponsive, following a massive seizure on Labor Day weekend 2016 until now, God has worked miracles in her life.

She was initially placed in a medically-induced coma in an effort to control ongoing seizures. During the first few days of her hospitalization, tests showed no brain activity and doctors prepared her husband, Joe, for the worst - Tori likely would not progress beyond a vegetative state.  After a month in the ICU, she slowly regained consciousness, and it became clear that while her nervous system was not responding correctly, Tori had NO mental incapacity.   After 3 more months in the hospital and then in medical rehab, she returned home early January 2017.   Her progress continues to defy the predictions of the medical community - God is truly at work! Amazingly, Tori has no signs of brain damage, but she is left with very limited mobility, tremors, and some difficulty speaking.

Because of all of this, her daily needs are extensive, and she requires constant care. With Joe working full-time to provide for Tori and their two young boys, they are in need of more services that are not covered by insurance.

If you would like to help the Wedge Family, one practical way is contributing financially.  These funds will be used to

1.) Pay for a home health aide/certified nursing assistant to provide regular care beyond what the current team of volunteers is able to provide

2.) Pay for additional physical and occupational therapy services beyond what insurance can offer

3.) Provide additional medical equipment to aid Tori now and as she gains mobility.

Throughout it all, Tori has been a shining example of trusting the Lord each day and praising Him for His continued goodness.  Joe is an amazing model of a husband’s unconditional love for his wife and commitment to her healing. Their sons, Trent and Jordan, are a daily source of motivation and encouragement to Tori as she perseveres in the difficult work of therapy. This family is truly amazing.  They graciously welcome everyone who walks through their door, and they truly love their neighbor as themselves.
