In the early morning hours of March 29, 2026, a devastating fire destroyed the Old SPI Mill site in Susanville the home of my dad’s business, Nobles Construction Components, Inc. The loss was total.
This wasn’t just a building. It was the heart of a business that has supported our community for years and provided jobs for 32 hardworking people and their families.
My dad is a Susanville native and is deeply passionate about providing good jobs here in our community. Nobles Construction Components, Inc. designs and manufactures prefabricated structural components used across California and the Pacific Northwest. More importantly, it’s a place where people built careers, supported their families, and became like family to us.
Overnight, everything changed.
Tools, materials, equipment, and the space they worked in—gone. While we are incredibly grateful that no one was hurt, the impact on our family and the families who depend on this business has been overwhelming.
We are in the early stages of the insurance process, but that takes time. In the meantime, my dad is doing everything he can to keep his crew working and fulfill existing contracts so these families can continue to have income. He has already begun replacing major equipment just to keep operations moving forward.
Right now, our most urgent need is helping replace the personal tool kits that many of our crew members lost in the fire. These are the tools they rely on every single day to do their jobs. For a carpenter, their tools are their livelihood.
We are working to re-equip our carpenters immediately with essential tools, including:
• Nail bags
• Chalk lines
• Framing hammers
• Speed squares
• Tape measures
• Cat’s paws
Our goal is to get these tools back in their hands as quickly as possible so they can return to work and continue supporting their families.
If you’re able to contribute, any amount will go directly toward replacing tools and helping our crew get back on their feet. If you can’t donate, sharing this means just as much.
We are incredibly grateful for the support, kindness, and strength of this community during such a difficult time.
Thank you for standing with our family and our crew.
