Tony Sancho Legal Fund
Donation protected
In 2019, Tony Sancho, one of our beloved actors at OSF, was illegally arrested and brutally treated while he was being held in the Jackson County Jail. Tony has filed a complaint against the Jackson County Jail and the Sheriff's department. He has also filed a second suit against the city of Ashland, Ashland Police Chief Tighe O’Meara, and the four police officers who illegally arrested him.
Our first GoFundMe successfully raised over 26k in 2020, and we are truly grateful for the support that was generously offered. With these two cases still in process, we are now raising 50k to help the family meet the costs of these cases.
He and his family continue to cover the costs of this case on their own. In surviving the continuing COVID-19 crisis, one can only imagine the burden they are carrying.
As Martin Luther King, Jr said: "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly."
