Tonja Edwards for Leroy Sentell Mcelveen

For those who don’t know me I’m Tonja Edwards and my husband is Leroy Sentell Mcelveen. On February 3 2023 Sentell had a massive stroke that almost ended his life. Half of his skull had to be removed immediately in order to save his life; he has been paralyzed on his left side since. He has experienced multiple complications along the way which have extended his recovery time tremendously. We have applied for government assistance consistently as well as nursing assistance and have been denied. Our two income household has now turned into just one. Working for Walmart while also attempting to be his caregiver due to not having any additional assistance has forced me to cut back my availability hours more than half which leaves me no longer able to provide a home for him and myself. We have been assisted by family members/friends thus far but those measures have been depleted and no longer available. My mom always said a closed mouth doesn’t get fed. God has continued to provide a way for sentell and I cannot lose faith now! I am trying to make sure he has a home to come back to with less stress on how bills will be paid so he can focus on his continued healing so I’m reaching out to anyone and everyone who can help in any shape or form!
