Tom's Fight Against Cancer and Hardship

Hello everyone, this is to benefit my best friend and younger brother Tom Bevins and his daughter Bailey! Tom is a single father and is fighting for his life as he battles cancer that has metastasized to multiple areas of his body. This recent horrible news brought the discovery that Tom was missed-diagnosed since 2012 and medically neglected by the VA Medical Center where Tom has been receiving his healthcare for years. -- After growing up in Westerville and graduating as a fellow WNHS Warrior in 1987, he joined the Navy as a Corpsman and was assigned to the US Marine Corps as a medical support combat Veteran who served our country fighting in the Middle East. -- Tom has always been that guy that would do anything for anyone just simply because he is a nice, caring, and a genuine guy. He is also that guy that never asks for help from others. -- Now that most of the extensive diagnostic testing and procedures have been done, in less than two weeks he will start receiving multiple surgeries to remove tumors and organs in addition to start with chemotherapy and radiation. -- Tom is in constant debilitating pain as the cancer is eating away inside to the point where he is not able to work to earn income, or make it through the father-daughter Tae Kwon Do classes anymore. He has lost nearly 1/3 of his body weight from what you see of Tom in the picture I posted of him with Bailey. -- All the medical bills and treatment will be covered by the VA (the least they can do - right?) but he will be out of commission fighting and resting and unable to work, hence the reason for the fund raiser is to hopefully pay for up to 6 months of his monthly rent and budget until he is able to get back up on his feet again. -- Any amount is greatly appreciated, we love our Tomba and want to keep him with us for many more years, please! -With love and gratitude! ~Jim
