It’s official! This March, Roger and I will be running the 2026 Tokyo Marathon in support of Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) Japan– and we couldn’t be more excited!
I have pledged $1,500 (222,000 yen) to Ronald McDonald House Charities Japan - all donations made will directly contribute to easing the burden that comes with caring for sick children across Japan.
RMHC provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with children receiving medical care far from where they live. These houses offer comfort, meals, and community to families facing a medical diagnosis when it’s needed most. You can read more about their mission here.
The significance of this race:
- Tokyo will be Roger's 6th World Major Marathon, marking the completion of one of the toughest and most inspiring achievements in running: finishing all Abbott World Marathon Majors (Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York)!
- I am honored to be guiding Roger through our third marathon together with Achilles
- Having spent 4 years living in Tokyo, it is incredibly meaningful for me to return for such an incredible event alongside friends and family!
Any amount, big or small, truly makes a difference and helps families stay close when it matters most. Thank you so much for your generosity and encouragement!
Note about donations: The way that the charity bibs for the Tokyo Marathon work are a little bit different than most. Runners can pick a charity and tell them how much they are willing to raise, and the charity chooses based on their own criteria. They require an immediate payment of the agreed upon amount, so these funds will go back to me to repay the original amount. If we are able to raise more than $1,500, I will make another donation to RMHC with the additional money.
