Tokyo Marathon 2025 Charity Entry

I am honored to announce that I have received a charity bid for the 2025 Tokyo Marathon. As many of you might or might not know, this marathon will help me get one step closer to completing all 6 world majors. I started this journey back in 2013 with the New York City Marathon and have been lucky enough to experience 3 additional world majors since then: Chicago, Berlin and Boston. I am honored to represent the Ronald McDonald House, as they were very generous to Steve and I during the birth of both our boys who were born premature. I am using this GoFundMe to raise the allotted donation amount to participate in this event. I would greatly appreciate all the support for this amazing cause.

What if my child becomes sick...

When children become sick, first and foremost, families think about getting them the best possible treatment. However, what if that hospital is located far from home...

The burden on families can be huge; emotionally, physically and financially.

At such times, parents put themselves second, sleeping on hospital couches or cots for days at a time, eating simple boxed meals three times a day so that they can be there for their children while they are being treated. On top of that, they have to worry about the family they have left behind at home faraway.

The Ronald McDonald House was born to support such families. The concept is A Home-Away-From-Home, a second place where people can feel at home. The Houses should be a place that families accompanying sick children can spend their time as comfortably as if they were at home. The Houses have kitchens where meals can be cooked, dining rooms, laundry rooms and playrooms along with bedrooms that are designed to protect privacy. Taking into consideration the burden on families, the Houses can be used for 1,000 yen per person per day.
