The Janie Foundation supports women’s health and well-being through direct service and legislative advocacy. We provide access to essential resources and advance policies that improve health equity for women and girls. This fundraiser is raising funds to create toiletry kits for homeless women in shelters, specifically Interfaith Works in Rockville, MD.

We started The Janie Foundation in 2019 when we were in high school, after learning how difficult it is for women in poverty to access menstrual products. Through research and connecting with community organizations fighting period poverty, we hosted several toiletry drives and launched more initiatives to help women in need. Now, as we are about to graduate from college, our team is relaunching this initiative to continue supporting women in our community.

The Janie Foundation is an independent, volunteer-run initiative and is not a registered nonprofit organization. Contributions are not tax-deductible. Funds raised will be used directly to purchase toiletries and period-care supplies for people experiencing homelessness. All funds are collected via a personal account and used solely for program expenses—no funds are used for personal compensation.
