Together with Kigomani

Zanzibar is a small island located off the coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean. The island seems like a slice of heaven for those visiting, however, the local life can be very different from the life and relaxation of the tourists vacationing on the island. After meeting local children on the beach, my sister and I felt the need to understand their life on a deeper level. Starvation, malnourishment, and uncleanly living conditions were the first observations we had while visiting the Kigomani village.
The children we met lacked the basic necessities, yet still happily welcomed us to their homes with smiles beaming from ear to ear. We had the honor of meeting two Kigomani village families. One of which is a single mother of 10 children who was recently widowed and a family of a hard working local who brought us to the village. He works at the hotel my family and I stay at when we visit the island and we have been able to build a connection with him which has created a relationship between us and these two families. After meeting with the local villagers, they told us that they were in need of rice, soap, and sugar. While on the island, my sister and I bought and delivered their food and supplies, which felt like a small gesture to us but for them it was a month's supply of necessities for two large families. This has left a lasting impression on us and our previously taken for granted privileged life. We promised to them that we will continue to supply their necessities (rice, soap and sugar) monthly. We can not do this alone and need your help. Please donate what you can to help make a difference in the Kigomani village. With your donations, our local friend will buy and personally deliver the goods to the two families each month.
This is only the beginning, as we are continuing to learn the more specific needs of the villagers. As a goal for the future, we would like to make larger changes in Kigomani such as helping the local hospital, having more access to clean water, feeding more families, and bringing an English teacher to their village school so that they may have a brighter future.
Please reach out if you would like more information. Thank you for your consideration of helping those in need in the Kigomani village. Together we can make a difference!
