Who are we?

Since 2006, the Social Developmental Forum (SDF) has been driven by a bold vision: to empower Palestinian youth and communities to lead sustainable development, defend human rights, and build a more resilient society. Working across the Gaza Strip and wider Palestine, SDF focuses on inclusive programs that strengthen youth leadership, economic opportunity, civil engagement, learning, and humanitarian support.

Why now?

Through this call, SDF is seeking the support of individual donors and community allies as the space for funding Palestinian-led developmental work continues to shrink. Over the past years, funding cuts, shifting donor priorities, and increasing restrictions on supporting organizations serving Palestinian communities have placed immense pressure on local NGOs. While humanitarian needs have grown, resources for long-term development, youth empowerment, and community resilience have significantly declined. Community-based support has therefore become essential to ensure the continuity, independence, and sustainability of SDF’s work — allowing us to respond to urgent needs while continuing to invest in lasting, people-centered change. We invite you to support our work, as your donation will help sustain programming that transforms lives every day, from crisis relief to education, empowerment, and community development.

Why My Support Matters?

Across the last decade, SDF has grown into a trusted Palestinian-led organization rooted in participatory, rights-based development. While emergency response is critical, the sustainable efforts of rebuilding, strengthening communities, and empowering young people is equally vital. Your donation will help strengthen all four of SDF’s core program areas:

1. Civil and Political Empowerment: We support youth to become engaged citizens, leaders, and change-makers. Through summits, capacity building programs, dialogue forums, and advocacy platforms for democracy, accountability, and good governance, SDF helps young people build confidence, critical thinking, and civic skills.

2. Economic Empowerment: This is key to community resilience. SDF delivers inclusive economic empowerment programs for marginalized groups, enabling youth, women, and people with disabilities to build a sustainable future. This includes but is not limited to skills development (such as employability trainings), On-Job Training, mentorships, livelihood support, and entrepreneurship initiatives

3. Media and Digital Transformation: In a rapidly changing world, digital skills and organizational capacity are essential. SDF strengthens digital tools, local data systems, and community-driven development approaches — building stronger, smarter networks of change-makers through digital transformation projects, digital capacity building for local organizations, and utilizing digital tools for monitoring, learning, and community outreach.

4. Emergency Response and Humanitarian Relief: When crisis strikes, SDF responds with speed, care, and dignity. Through the Together for Palestine (T4P) program, we provide life-saving support while reinforcing community resilience. This includes food and hygiene parcels, safe learning spaces for children and adolescents, ready-to-eat meals and winter clothing for displaced families, and Psychological First Aid (PFA) led by our youth network,

What My Donation Will Do?
