Together Let's Support Tessa

One of my closest friends who helped me in college has a daughter who is only a year older than my daughter. Her parents took me in while I was going to college, and they shared their home with me until I graduated with an Associate's degree. My friend's daughter recently finished graduating from the University of Mobile in 2022. She just started her job with her new career, and, like my daughter Tori, she was excited about her future.

At Christmas time in 2023, my friend Cheryl told me that her daughter Tessa was having balance problems at work. For a couple of months, she went back and forth to the doctor, complaining that her symptoms were affecting her job and her ability to drive and ambulate. She was having difficulty hearing out of one ear and had headaches. Due to her health, Tessa lost her job.

After multiple visits to the physician, they decided to do an MRI of Tessa's brain. The doctors discovered that Tessa had a tumor growing on the left side of her brain. Shortly after diagnosis, she went to surgery to have it removed in February 2024. They were going to allow her a little bit of time to recover before beginning radiation. Three months later, they did another MRI and discovered the tumor was growing back too fast. She was then taken back to surgery in May 2024. She has undergone two 10-13 hour surgeries at USA Medical. After the second surgery, she sustained loss of hearing in her left ear and paralysis on the left side of her face. She has had weakness but has regained a good bit of strength in her limbs.

Tessa has received radiation treatments and has lost some of her hair. She is apprehensive about being around people now and doesn't want her picture taken. Due to this situation, her family has incurred a lot of expenses. This Spring, 2025, Tessa and her family will travel to Duke University Hospital to determine whether she is a candidate for reanimation surgery. Any funds raised will help with medical and travel expenses. I am asking my friends and family to help me help Tessa and her family. I was surprised by all the expenses they have had. Any funds this page raises will 100% go to Tessa Crane and her family. If you can not afford to donate, please share Tessa's story.
