Since 2002, following Timor-Leste’s independence, the Franciscan Sisters of Divine Providence have been a beacon of hope for the most vulnerable communities in Oe-cusse.

Through impactful projects — building +180 homes for poor families, running a social centre that feeds and educates over 300 children daily, empowering women through a sewing cooperative, and supporting students through sponsorships — these Sisters continue to change lives every day.

️ Their work has been internationally recognized with the "Sérgio Vieira de Mello" Human Rights Award and the Medal of Merit from the Timorese Government — but their mission is far from over.

Today, they need your help to continue their mission. Current needs include:

️ Volunteer housing;
New residences in Passabe (very remote area, to continue social, educational and missionary projects);
️Renovation of the mission hall and installation of air conditioning;
Building a boarding school for girls from remote mountain areas;
A multifunctional canteen and children's activity rooms in Dili.

Every contribution builds more than just walls — it builds dignity, opportunity, and a better future.

Desde 2002, as Irmãs Franciscanas da Divina Providência têm sido um pilar de esperança e dignidade para as comunidades mais vulneráveis da região de Oe-cusse.

Com projetos anti-pobreza como a construção de +180 casas para famílias carenciadas, um centro social que acolhe e educa mais de 300 crianças, uma cooperativa de costura feminina e o apadrinhamento de jovens estudantes, as Irmãs continuam a transformar vidas todos os dias.

️ O seu impacto foi reconhecido com o Prémio dos Direitos Humanos “Sérgio Vieira de Mello” e a Medalha de Mérito do Estado de Timor-Leste — mas a missão está longe de terminar.

Hoje, o desafio é maior: precisam de apoio urgente para continuar as obras em construção, incluindo:

️Residência para voluntários;
Residência para as Irmãs em Passabe (continuar o trabalho missionário e apoio a projecto sociais);
️Reformulação do salão missionário e instalação de ar condicionado;
Construção de um colégio para meninas das montanhas;
Cantina social e salas de atividades em Díli.
