Together for Natalia’s Second Fight

My name is Cindy, and I am raising funds for the Flores family as they face a heartbreaking journey once again. My niece, Natalia, was preparing to start her first year of high school when her family’s world was turned upside down. What began as a swollen lymph node quickly led to countless tests, a biopsy, and a bone marrow aspiration. The results confirmed what we had all feared Natalia has relapsed with leukemia.

Since then, Natalia has had a port placed and undergone a lumbar puncture. Thankfully, the leukemia has not spread to her spine, giving us a bit of hope in the midst of so much uncertainty. Still, her treatment right now is extremely tough. This first month of chemotherapy is especially brutal, and on Day 28, doctors will test her bone marrow again to see if she has reached remission and determine the next steps in her two-year treatment plan.

My sister has taken time away from work to be by Natalia’s side and get her to the many appointments she now has each week three or more at this point. As you can imagine, this puts an incredible emotional and financial strain on the family.
