Together for Marina: A Family’s Fight to Stay United

Hello, my name is Tavo, and I am reaching out on behalf of my sister, Marina, as she begins an important and challenging journey—her immigration process—to keep her family together here in the United States.

The immigration system in our country is complex, overwhelming, and often isolating. In today’s political climate, migrants face not only administrative hurdles but also the weight of harassment and hate rhetoric. Marina has always stood tall against these challenges. She has been a beacon of integrity, resilience, and compassion—a leader in her community, an achiever in her studies, and a person whose moral compass guides everything she does.

Despite her efforts, Marina was unable to apply for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) because the program ended before she became eligible. Now, as she steps into the immigration process, the road ahead is daunting and costly. From application fees and paperwork to legal services from the law firm assisting her family, the expenses total a staggering $15,000.

Marina and her husband both work tirelessly in full-time jobs to provide for their growing family—they’re expecting their first child, a blessing that brings joy but also the added stress of navigating this process. Like so many migrant families, the fear of separation is a daily reality they must face.
