Hello Family and Friends -
As most of you know my son, Grey, had a tragic accident on June 17th. He was flown to Rady Children's Hospital after a drowning incident where he suffered several minutes without oxygen to his brain.
He was in the hospital between the PICU and Rehabilitation Medicine Center, where the dedicated doctors and nurses provided the outstanding care to stabilize and bring Grey as far as they could.
Thankfully, my TRICARE insurance covers some of the necessary medical expenses, and the Navy offers programs to provide resources needed for Grey's recovery & his daily living requirements.
In addition to the above, Grey's team of Medical Professionals, along with his mother & I have agreed to seek various evidence-based treatments following his time in the PICU.
Including sessions of Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy, Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy, Neurofeedback Training, just to name a few. Grey's mother & I, following counseling provided by doctors & nurses, feel these treatments, which are backed by strong research, can greatly improve brain redevelopment in victims of drowning. We are dedicating ourselves to ensure Grey receives everything that may lead a full recovery.
Unfortunately, these treatments are not covered by TRICARE; I will continue personally handling part of these out-of-pocket expenses.
I understand there's another Gofundme set up for Grey by his mother. Costs for his treatment and recovery are high and we are splitting it 50/50. His mother and I both want him to recover faster so he can continue shining his light on everyone around him and his family. Your donation will help with the costs of making this possible.
Again, I am handling out-of-pocket expenses associated with Grey's continued treatments & recovery.
I'm setting this up to create a savings account for Grey for anything necessary for his daily living and recovery. The money has been used directly for his treatments and will continue to try and build a safe account should anything arise.
