Together for Chantal: Easing the Final Days

Dear friends and family,

We are reaching out to you during a heartbreaking time for our beloved Chantal, who is losing her battle to multiple aggressive cancers. Chantal (age 44), loving wife of Todd, and mother of two teens, has always been a source of light and joy in our lives, bringing laughter and kindness to everyone she meets. Now, as this family faces a very difficult journey, we want to come together to support them in any way we can.

Chantal was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in May of this year. Further testing revealed that cancer was also in her uterus and on her lungs. Over the last few months, the cancer has spread to her hip, legs, one foot, her shoulder and is now on the brain. Other than one radiation treatment on her legs, additional radiation or chemo have not been possible as Chantal is too weak. With the strong medication to control the pain comes confusion and visual hallucinations.

Chantal worked full time - first as a PSW, and then as a Care Coordinator. Her sudden departure from work has resulted in financial burden for the family. While Chantal was able to apply for unemployment insurance, she is behind on her timesheets due to her cognitive decline. She has not yet applied for disability.

We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of the financial stress during this incredibly challenging time.

Our goal is to:

1. Raise funds for the pending funeral costs which are estimated to be $8,000 to $9,000.

2. Assist with rent and daily living expenses (until they are back on their feet again) to ensure the family can stay in their current home and school. Estimated costs, previously covered from Chantal's salary, are $3,400 monthly, and we are hoping to cover up to six months.
