Together for a Hopeful Tomorrow for Her

July 24, 2024 was a day that I was to get together with friends in my home state after more than 6 years. Instead it is a day that will live in infamy for my family.

At 4:41 pm...My phone rang and it was my sister's number and I had literally just been cheerfully talking about her with friends so I was excited. I answered and said " HEY...your ears ringing?"

My niece (Orahna ) spoke with a terrified voice and told me that " Momma's not breathing what do I do???"

I had my friend call 911 and I had Orahna run outside and call for help. She did this and the paramedics arrive , but over 20 minutes had passed...Orahna had to watch her Mama Pass right before her eyes...

To say the anguish was palpable is an understatement. Bridgette Mary Wallace(ne Ballor) was loved by everyone that knew her. The hospital staff treated her like royalty and did all they could, but alas Bridgette succumbed and passed away. The world is a sadder place without her infectious laugh and humor. Her wish was for me to take custody of Orahna> Bridgette and Orahna's Father both wanted me to raise her in the ways they wished her to be raised. Bridgette was 31 when she passed away and she never believed she was close to her time and never put any paperwork in place for this so I am having to pursue legal recourse to gain custody. I decided to reach out for assistance and started this fundraiser to help cover legal fees and expenses for gaining custody of my niece after the untimely death of her mother (my sister). My sister did not leave any documentation regarding custody, but she did wish me to raise her daughter. We all know the legal system can be very complicated for the uninitiated, and thus I need to retain the service of a lawyer to handle this case. I tried to locate assistance for this issue, and after an exhaustive search, I finally located an attorney. I am asking for any assistance one would be able to offer, including well wishes and prayers. In all reality, the cost of this will require monetary assistance as well.
