Tod Puppy Goes To Mi Refugio
Greetings!
My name is Sarah Painter. I am a high school senior at an arts-infused public-charter school in Manatee County, Florida. I am also a freelance mascot; I have my own character named Tod Puppy that I volunteer as to make children smile and give them joy.
I volunteer at charity events, and non-profit organizations such as the Redlands Chrisitan Migrant Association. (I often perform as Tod Puppy at one of their daycare centers in Palmetto, FL, which provides childcare to the families of migrant and rural farm workers)
Several months ago, I came across an extremely moving documentary called "Children of the 4th World".
Because of this documentary, I came accross the organization that helps the children under these circumstances, Mi Refugio (link to their website is here: http://www.mirefugio.org/ ). I emailed them, telling them about my talent. They told me that they could use my talent, which made me extremely joyful!
I will be going during the month of June and will need the necessary money before April 1st. These funds will cover the room and board, as well as the airplane trip and luggage to and from Guatemala.
This support will mean a lot to me. I have always wanted to go abroad and volunteer as Tod Puppy, especially at the Mi Refugio school. I think that it will be something new and very exciting, and hopefully, this monetary goal will be obtainable!
I greatly appreciate every donation, even if it is only a few dollars. I will be making a compilation video of all of the photos taken with Tod Puppy at Mi Refugio, and if I have enough room, I will gladly put each person's or family's name who donated as a means of thanking you all.
